San Antonio's water is hard, which means dissolved minerals stay behind when it dries. You'll see them as white spots on shower glass, crust around faucets, and film on anything that gets wet often.
Squeegee the shower glass after the last shower of the day. It takes thirty seconds and removes the water before minerals can dry onto the surface.
Wipe faucets and sinks dry with a microfiber cloth when you finish in the kitchen or bathroom. Keeping a cloth within reach makes this easy to do.
For light spots, white vinegar on a cloth loosens the minerals. Let it sit for a few minutes, wipe it off, and rinse. Avoid using vinegar on natural stone such as marble or travertine, because the acid can damage the surface.
Once buildup has been there for a while, it takes more work to remove. A deep cleaning resets showers, fixtures, and tile, and regular visits keep them from slipping back.
